AMEDEO’S ITALIAN RESTAURANT - A RALEIGH DINING TRADITION - LOCATED AT 3905 WESTERN BOULEVARD
Raleigh, NC is a long way from Reading, PA, yet Amedeo "Dick" DeAngelis made the trek to play football for the mighty NC State Wolfpack in 1954. Playing on a scholarship, he was a long way from home and he greatly missed "home cooking". The idea of opening a small Italian restaurant seemed the most effective way to alleviate the
homemade recipes from his mother and grandmother and in 1963, a 12-seat restaurant opened on Western Boulevard in Raleigh. Since that time Dick, along with his mother, wife Betty, children, and grandchildren and many loyal employees have expanded "Amedeo's" into a premier eating establishment with a seating capacity now of over 200!
